Modular Lightweight Load Carrying Equipment System or MOLLE
MOLLE 3 Color DESERT Camo
The Modular Lightweight Load Carrying Equipment System or MOLLE has
been designed to enhance the survivability and lethality of the Modern
Soldier. The MOLLE is a Modular System that is worn rather than carried and
allows for complete tailorability for improved mission efficiency without
compromising mobility or readiness. The newly designed External Frame
and Quick Release Mechanism allows the soldier to drop the Carrying Gear
while still maintaining the Fighting Load Carrying Vest & pockets. The
following is an outline of the changes that have occurred to the MOLLE
System. The first major change to the MOLLE System is the configuration of
the completed item. Following the standard doctrine of the U.S. Armed
Forces that each Marine / Solider is a Rifleman, the complete MOLLE comes
set up in the Rifleman Configuration. This includes 3 30 rd Double Magazine
Pockets, 2 Canteen / Utility Pocket, 2 Handgrenade pockets. Specialized
Pocket Sets are added to suit the wears specific function within his/her
squad. The Pocket Sets are as follows: Pistolman, Grenadier, SAW Gunner.
The Molded Frame: The Frame of the MOLLE system has been shortened
and re-engineered. These changes not only better allow for the control and
distribution of the load that is being carried, but have decreased the weight
of the frame. The Shoulder Strap Assembly: The Straps have also been
re-designed to allow for a more comfortable fit for all personnel required to
use the pack. Fighting Load Carrier (FLC): The FLC replaces the Load
Bearing Vest of the original MOLLE system. The FLC rides higher on the
user abdomen and allows for a better tailor-ability of pockets to the users
specific needs. Patrol Pack: The Patrol Pack has incorporated a sheet frame
for rigidity and the addition of storable straps that allow the pack to be tied
off during airborne operations. The front pocket includes an internal
storage pocket for the cleaning kit to the M-16 rifle. The pack is now
designed to attach to the Rucksack by wrapping the 1-inch webbing around
the upper most rail of the Frame. The Butt Pack has been replaced by a new
Waist Pack. The Waist Pack can be worn / located in four different locations
on the Rucksack / Individual. The Waist Pack can be worn around the wasit
by using it's independent waist belt. It can be affixed at the following points:
Directly below the Claymore Pocket on the Main Ruck Sack; On the bottom
of the Patrol Pack on the 4 1" webbing loops; or on the back belt of the
Fighting Load Carrier (FLC). Reinforcements have been added to all
attaching points of the Main Rucksack and Sleep System Carrier to prevent
the pulling out of the metal attaching clips. The 30rd Double Mag Pockets
have reinforcements added to the side to allow the pockets to maintain
their form when empty, as well as, reinforcements added to the front flap
to prevent rub through.
